Companies like Microsoft offer couple benefit packages with the employee compensation. They used to offer couples who got married with free vacation packages to resorts and some of the world famous locations. This is an interesting concept benefits for a registered couple who work in the same organization. To think from a company’s point of view they would want their employees to do their best and also make sure that the company doesn’t become a victim of the interpersonal relationships of the employees. So they have designed a contract which makes sure that the employee can register as a couple and any interpersonal problems should not create a problem to the organization which might affect the organization legally. What the company is making sure that the office relationship will be a professional one, where the employees use a professional approach and this also makes sure that the environment in which the couple is working knows about the status and this does not lead to unnecessary office gossip and unfair treatment of the couple. So the organization makes sure that the status quo is maintained in the office. But looking from an employee’s perspective will signing such a contract hamper his/her career, will the individual be treated in the same manner before he/she signed the agreement, and should an employee be forced or obligated to sign such an agreement . These are the apprehensions that and employee would have but if the contract is framed in such a way that it makes sure that the employee is still treated in the same manner and would also benefit from such a contract then there should not be any problem with such a contract and the employee should sign this without apprehensions.
