Reason for the bond..

During one of the sessions with one of the Senior HR Manager in my previous organisation, a question was raised as to why do the organisation have to put a 2 yr bond for all the freshers. If the company claims to be among the top IT firms and one of the best employers with great organisational culture, then what is the need to impose this 2 yr bond for the employees? They will as it is stay with the company.
The answer to this question was :
Any employee (in particular freshers) starts to give output only after 18 months of their stay in the organisation, during which the associate learns and tries to adjust with the various aspects of work and the organisation. A company spends a lot of effort; both in terms of money and resources in training the freshers and thus its the duty of the employee to give back some amount of his/her effort to the organisation. Thus it is totally justified for the employer to ask for some service in return to the effort that is spent in making a fresher into a professional.

One more point that he mentioned was that this bond system is not made to discourage employees and thus force them to stay with the organisation, for if anyone wants to leave the organisation, the money to be deposited is far less than that spent in training the associate. Its just that it acts as a means of putting a small breaker so that both the employee and the organisation benefit on the large.
